Mini books and journals

My friend Paige showed me how to make these lovely little mini books a few weeks ago and since then i have been on a roll! I have made three with ideas for lots more! I used up some scraps, primas and gems and a circle and scallop punch for embellishments.

They are so quick to make and make lovely presents. A good way to use up all your scraps aswell!

I also bought this lovely Cath Kidson journal from Waterstones the other day. My intention was to rip the pages out to use for my LO's but the book is so pretty i cant bear to do it!!

Please take a look at the post below with my sneak peeks for the next Scrapbook Apprentice. I am bottom in the voting and with only two days to go i am not liking my chances!! So if you want to pop over and vote for me (sam) you can use the link on the right!!!! Thanks x

Scrapbook Apprentice

Challenge five is on the website now http://www.creativitylifemag.blogspot.com/ so please pop over and have a look at the entrys. You can vote untill the end of april and as i seem to be lagging behind again any votes for me would be most appreciated!!!

Here are the sneak peeks for challenge six which will be online from 1st May...if i get through.

Sorry blogger is playing nasty with my photos again and publishing them the wrong way round! I have not got the time to try and get them right!

This months challenge was creative stamping. We were sent new PM papers and stamps by Jessie Edwards. I have stamped, embossed, triple embossed, clear embossed, resist embossed, stamped direct onto the paper and even used tea bags!!!!! I hope i get to stay in and everyone gets a look at this challenge entry.

playing catch up

I didn't realise it had been quite so long since i updated, sorry! What with half term, kids, puppy and trying to get my LO's done for Scrapbook Apprentice i have not had a minute.

I had my sister and friend Paige round to scrap on the first wednesday of the half term, my kids played upsatairs and i did actually remember to feed them (only because they came down to remind me!) Heres what i got done.

This photo was taken on mothers day along the cliff pass from shanklin to sandown and my two little angels are actually smiling! I cant remember what the papers were, the butterfly one is quite old! I used lots of primas and buttons and my lovely little owl stamp from stamps away. The alphas are a mix of PM and doddlebug and the journalling page was donated by Paige as i didnt have anything that matched!

SLYMI wk 14- Scrap something hidden. I chose to do my journalling hidden as it was quite personal and all about how brave my son is because he was bullied serverly and came out the other side of it. The photo was also taken on mothers day and i love it. The papers are fancy pants papa/adventurer, alphas are thickers and doodlebug and the 'hero' was part of the PP so i cut it out. The stamps are technique tuesday (also borrowed from Paige) and i have used PM ribbon and Rusty Pickle chipboard.

SLYMI wk 15- Scrap on the edge. I have used MM edged paper, Kaisercraft waterberry delicious/enticing, K&Co fabric brads, primas, MM tag, chipboard and thickers and PM alphas. I used my friskars threading water punch to edge one of the PP's and i used an American craft rub on to edge the other piece. The MM paper already has a lovely { edge and the tag has a torn edge. The photo is also from mothers day and is very rare as i am actually in it!

I got through!!!!

This Scrapbook Apprentice competition is getting tough! I just made it through to the next round, by the skin of my teeth, so a huge thank you to all the people who voted for me. Unfortunately Sarah was eliminated this time which is such a shame because every month her work was outstanding.
My sneak peaks are a couple of posts down for this months challenge, or you can pop over to the creativity life blog and see my LO, card and altered item in full and hopefully place a vote!!!
Thanks again everybody!

SLYMI wk 13

This is my LO for wk 13 which was use stamps. I used a flower stamp that i got in a free set with a magazine a couple of months ago. I stamped first with versamark then with green and violet slightly overlapping the stamp as i built up the layers. I used a dragonfly stamp from Technique Tuesday as well(just because i like it!). The papers are Daisy Bucket, Posh Posies/chic. I twisted the ribbon to represent the maypole from the photo.
