Monday 8 December 2008

Ok..I should have been postung these daily but I have been playing catch up over the last few days!Day 7....wrapping presents and writing xmas lists of food with mum! DH actually helped with the wrappinh this year!
Day 6....Busy day today! The samba band had to play at the school fete this afternoon (by the way thankyou to the chair of governers who showed her support by complaining of our practising and then standing with her fingers in her ears..WE ARE NOT THAT BAD!)
Then in the evening we had to play again in the Ryde Lantern Parade. It was very cold but carrying and banging on a very big drum soon warms you up!

Day 5....Iv'e used this page for the photos of putting up the decorations, even though we did it on 30th nov!

I made the pocket protectors from a 12x12 page protector, I sewed them in different places to make different size pockets for photos or embellishments or cards.

Day 4.... Bit of a wierd day! The samba band was asked to play for some Chinese delegates that were coming to the island..of course we all thought it was a wind up but it turned out it wasnt and they were all really impressed by our playing!

I didnt actually do anything on this day so I have used it to write down memories of past christmas's.

This is a photo of a prize I won at work! It was a lovely suprise when i got to work that morning!

I had to start the album off with pictures of the kids advent calenders, including the special one my friend Paige made for the kids and filled with chocolate buttons!

This is a LO with me in it! I used Basic grey sultry papers, BG rub-ons, scalloped note paper (cant remember the make), Prima flowers and ribbon.
Shelby bought a Hannah Montanna Wig with her birthday money and had a great time posing for these photos! The paper is sandy lion kindly donated by my friend Paige! Quite a simple Lo, just black card and some PM alphas. (Sept 08)

Costco papers, Queen & Co felt fusion, American Thickers, Fancypants chipboard shapes, Ribbons, Rub-ons, Brads, Foof-a-la buttons. This Lo is of my DH and my friends dog Boots! The journalling is hidden behind the picture. (11th Sept 08)

I bought this Brazzil scalloped edge card stock but I wasnt sure what to do with it.I thought it would best with bright colours so I have used it with orange and green and photos of Calebs carrots that he grew himself. The title was cut with the X Cut express machine and I hand cut the carrot! I Did this LO at the Wight Crafr Crop Circle. (sept 08)

This Lo is of my two kids and my nephew. I used my costco papers (gotta get through them!) and coredinations card stock, prima flowers and brads, maya rd felt flowers all with stitching on and a button sewn on to the centre one, basic grey rub-ons, an acetate journalling tag from Hambly and a grommet from We R memory keepers. (18th sept 08)

This is a LO of Calebs BIG Marrow! I used Basic Grey papers and rub-ons,see d's alphabet, prima flowers and hand punched flowers and buttons. I found some old green braid in my sewing box and added that and I used a hole punch to punch 3 different sizes of hole and then I did some stitching through the holes and on the corners of the photo. I got Caleb to write all about his marrow on the 7gypsies journalling card which i tucked behind the photo. (2nd Oct 08)

This is a LO with an actual pic of me on it!!! It was taken at the Chalice well gardens in Glastonbury a couple of years ago. I have used Costco papers, prima flowers, chipboard swirls, buttons and ribbons that I have added rub-ons to. Also some lovely journalling tags from 7gypsies.

Thursday 28 August 2008

I thought I'd better start using some of the 300 Costco papers My friend Anna picked up for me! Great value, £23 and they come in their own case! These photos are of my DH and me on our 10th anniversary earlier this month. I dont look great in the photos but had to get past that as they were the only photos taken on our anniversary! The title letters are PM stickers, I inked the chipboard flourish and heart and stamped some flourishes on them. I added flowers and buttons and I handcut the scallop edges.
These papers are from the Basic Grey Sultry collection. I ordered some matching rub-ons so when they arrived i just had to use them straight away! These photos are of my daughter Shelby, taken at the Botanical Gardens in Ventnor a couple of years ago. As i had done a LO about Caleb and his personality I thought it only fair to do one on Shelby! I handcut the journalling paper, used the rub-ons all over, used a Basic Grey swirl stamp on the corner, the title letters are also Basic Grey from the paper pack.

Wednesday 30 July 2008

I have been busy, busy, busy today! Because it's the first day of my holidays I woke up at 6am and couldn't get back to sleep! My sister and a friend came round and we spent the day scrapping..I only managed to get one LO done but here it is. The lovely date circle embellishment was made for me by my friend, I've used PM paper and card stock, I scallopped the edges myself, I used my new Making Memories journalling stamps, buttons, brads and flowers.

Monday 28 July 2008

I made this mini book for my sister as she had to go in hospital last week. Its only got 4 pages but it has a poem all the way through with embellishments.
Well, I thought I might give this 'blogging' a go! Don't know if I will keep up with it but I will try!
I just wanted somewhere to post my scrapbooking layouts and write down my musings (if I have any!)
